Limp Mode? Maybe? I dont know
So i bought a boost guage finally and i installed it this morning. After that fun process, i took it for a drive to find that i'm only boosting .3bar. which i belive is about 5 psi. So i dont know why its so low. My check engine light has been on for a little while( code was engine fuel trim lean too long bank 1. Im workin on figuring that out) Could the CEL be the reason im boosting so low. Also the guage itself came with some crappy stuff. It came with 1 5" rubber tube, 8' of white platis tube, and the T piece. the hoses dont go together as tight as i would like and it may be possible taht they are leaking but i dont thing it would leak that much. Anyone got any ideas?

RE: Limp Mode? Maybe? I dont know
your cel probably caused you to go into limp mode

RE: Limp Mode? Maybe? I dont know
thats what i was thinkong after i read that Limp mode is supposed to stop me from running extremly lean but i wasnt sure so i figured i'd ask. So if the CEL is the problem and i fix it will the car go out of Limp on its own?

RE: Limp Mode? Maybe? I dont know
would double check hoses for leaks just in case, connections might not be tight enough as well

RE: Limp Mode? Maybe? I dont know
after you clear the code, yes

RE: Limp Mode? Maybe? I dont know
If you dont have a chip, 5 psi is about normal (sadly)

RE: Limp Mode? Maybe? I dont know
really i though it would rune about 8 at least

RE: Limp Mode? Maybe? I dont know
ya, should be 5-8 psi. your fault code could indicate a bad maf, which will put you in limp mode if it throws a lean code/CEL. Get the code cleared, disconncect the maf and see if it runs any better... If it does, your maf is probably shot. Sounds like your boost gauge is like every other one.. Nothing wrong with it as long as your fittings are snug.

RE: Limp Mode? Maybe? I dont know
I think 8 is more accurate for a stock 1.8t.
