Lots of Maintenance
So I have a 2002 A4 w/ 86000 miles that is in need of a lot of maintenance. I've been driving quite a bit lately and I've been making an ever-growing list of things I need to do. Just a bunch of little things, but I wanted to post my list on here to solicit input as to anything else I should so "while I'm at it." Here is the list:
-- New plugs
-- Change oil
-- Change timing belt
-- Replace water pump (when doing timing belt)
-- Replace serpentine belt (when doing timing belt)
-- Flush coolant (when doing timing belt)
-- Try to piece together sound barrier and re-attach (I hit a bucket in the road and ripped a big crack in the sound barrier)
-- Figure out what is going on with the ECT sensor. I replaced the sensor but it's still throwing a code; must be something wrong with the plug
-- Replace front passenger brake pad and figure out why it's wearing much faster than the driver side; probably a stuck caliper
-- Find boost leak
-- Replace vacuum hose that's about to crack
-- Figure out why I'm slowly loosing power steering fluid; Should I replace power steering pump when I have the front bumper off for the timing belt job?
-- Replace hoses (when doing timing belt)
-- Disassemble front driver's side door and fix/re-solder speaker; Speaker has static intermittently
-- Replace fuel filter
-- Replace front left turn signal
-- Figure out why right front turn signal goes in and out; very rare, but it sometimes doesn't work
Anyone have any input on this? Anything I'm not thinking of? As you can't see what I'm doing is really nothing MAJOR, but it's a bunch of little annoying things and things that need to be done.

since youre replacing you spark plugs too i would do a seafoam treatment buy 2 cans and bour in half in the gas tank half through a vacume line and from the second bottles half in the crank case (when you pour into your crank pour it 200 miles priorto oil change it will pentrate all the gung out of it.) i would recomend you buya magnetic drain plug and jumbo oil filter because the 1,8t's are known for oil sludge use full synthetic when doing the oil change. when doing the coolant flush get audi's coolant none of the prestone crap
In the past I had some sludge issues. I dropped the oil pan and cleaned the pickup screen and pump very very well about 15000 miles ago. I've been using the jumbo filter and changing the oil religiously ever since. Looking in through the filler cap I don't see much gunk at all, so I think I caught it JUST in time.
I've never heard of this sea-foam stuff you're talking about. Can you tell me more about it? Also, I've heard that the magnetic drain plugs are a gimmic -- what do you think?

It's leaking on the passenger side of the car. I see where it is doing so on the garage floor. It's a pretty slow leak I guess, I only have to top it off every three or four weeks. Any suggestions on how to track down the root of issue?

look at this vid http://youtube.com/watch?v=P-4EfjUU5o4
the magnetic draing plug is worth it as long as you get one with a powerfull magnes since oil is constently cycled, remember parts will ware out in theory they are not supposed too but they do and you dont want peices of iron and steal floating around i noticed tiny filings on mine i do a oil change every 5-6k miles
change your brake pins. change your timing belt tensioner pulley. pour in some power steering stop leak. seafoam is a bottle of liquid that cleans the crap out of your car. google it
