Default Lower Front Splash Shield Took Flight

Hey guys the lower front splash shield (one that covers the bottom of the engine) decided to take flight on me yesterday. I live in ottawa, we have snow, rain ect as we speak at the same time no less. I need to be on the road tonight and I can`t get another one until monday. How bad is it going to be without itÉ I`m not going to kill anything am I?

yeah i think youre fine without the belly pan, i heard that some guys just straight take em off. most older cars dont even have one. if youre desperate for another one, go to a junkyard or something and find one, but youll be fine without it.

so what is really the point of the shield other than noise reduction and some road junk protection?

The shield is just another plastic piece that covers and protects some part of the engine. I took mine off and i never botherd to put it back on.

protects the bottom of your engine from rocks and such, also help keep water out. not a mandatory accesory but protects your engine...

hmmm......indeed. I'm afraid to call the dealer for a price on a new one after the 700 dollar quote for an unpainted s4 front fascia lol.

Mine got a hole punched through it when a curb attacked, would've been my oil pan. I took it off anyways in hopes that it'll keep my engine bay cooler. With all the snow we get here, it's still been fine.
