lowering my 97 audi a4 2.8 quattro

i need help on deciding how low to drop my car. I'm not too sure what springs to go with, i was going to try the ones by h n r race springs(1.9front) but i'm not sure if that is enough. then again i was thinking about going with tien coil overs. If anyone could post up pics of their car explaining the drop that would help me out a lot or just tell me what the best springs for my car are.

coilovers are great, for their adjustability

but if you dont need adjustability just go with a spring and shock combo

is your car quattro or front trac ?

not sure what car u have, but u should be able to go even lower than 1.9… it’s all depends on tire size u have, and even area u live in, I had to raise my car up a little few years back after I lost lower part of my rear body kit, scratched my front bumper and had to replace under the engine plastic cover. we have few stores around my house I couldn’t get into because of high speed bumps. Get some adjustable coilovers and readjust it to the high u feel most comfortable with

Yeah i agree with the other audi fans. Don't just change the spring as it may shorten the live of your shock. Change both at the same time, by doing this you will save money and time. Change the shock to race shock.

Coilover is still the best choise though.

hey welcome to the forums, i actually just bought a set of s4 coilovers. should recieve them any time soon now. i have a 96 2.8Q, and looked around alot before i found the setup i wanted at a price i could afford. bought them used with 20K miles on them. def recommend C/o's if you are looking to get that "perfect" ride height. either that or you could go shock and spring combo and get a set of "add on C/o's" from ecstuning. its a add on sleeve that lets you adjust the height of the ride. i think $200, too lazy to check.

perfect ride height for your 97 2.8 is the neuspeed RACE springs. get bilstein GROOVED shocks as well and you can adjust the height with those.
