i just vagged my car and got a MAF reading of 27.78 g/s at idle, anyone know if this is good or bad. also my car does like 10 miles per gallon!!!!
my cars a 97 1.8 20v.

If there is no fault code related to the MAF its probably fine I would assume.

 

if thats the highest it goes to at wot, thats awful, def bad

 

Oh and I have a working sensor without the housing I can sell you for $20 shipped

 

Tom, thats at idle ... im thinking its doing ok.

Have you changed you plugs?
Is your tire pressure ok?
Do you have any vaccum leaks?
What gas do you use?
Im trying to think of more MPG issues...

I believe stock is around 120? an it gets maxed out at ~186

 

Thats housing limited is it not?

 

kinda.The most the sensor can read is 186, but if u put the sensor in a hosuing with a bigger surface area, the air velocity is going to be less, hence once its maxed out in the stock housing, u switch to a bigger housing, and scale injectors equivalently
