get ready for it to break more if you plan on running 24psi on stock internals

2.8audia4, why do you think these engines are so weak with stock internals??? tons of people run 15-20 psi on a daily basis with absolutely no problems.....you should browse some 1.8t performance forums and see what these engines are capable of....i think you'll be surprised with what you find other people running at...

because they are not made for that. you are already running 150hp with 1.8t when you up the boost to 24psi that means you are about 10HP per square inch to the car so that is 240+150 =390hp our stock internal are not made to hold that much over time. im not saying day one when he ups it to 24psi its going to break, but if he drives 24psi as a daily driver in about 3months some things are going to happenblock may crack, rods, may bend, maybreak the pistions, head gaskette may go then. if runs 7psi for daily use and 24psi lets say on race night then he might get 6months down the road with these stock internals. i see this stuff happen all the time i work a balance proformence in atlanta we have seen plent of people coming back to us for us to redo there internals b/c they went high boost with stock internals its bound to happen. now if he gets some block guards or sleeved the engine i and do some of the interanls i can see maybe 24psi on a race night
and maybe like 12psi day car

I said it in the other post and I will say it here. These engine can hold 24psi for years. Go over to vwvortex.com and read through the 1.8t tech forums and you will see. You mention "our stock internal are not made to hold that much over time", if you have a 2.8 thats a completly different game. Also I'm assuming you don't work on vw 1.8t's for a living (otherwsie you wouldn't be arguing this) but many other motors such as subarus motors could only support 24psi for a couple months like you say. Our motors are much much stronger and incredibly detuned from the factory. Also head gasket on these car rarely blow even at 35psi, the blocks don't crack. I'm geussing you work on other cars maybe subaru's, hondas, or american cars and not vw/audi motors. You would be correct in the case of those other motors, but not the 1,8t
