I believe this actually may be the case for me. Days after being chipped, my car was running a 15.4 consistantly, I had a boost leak for a short period of time, got that fixed, and when I took it to the track, although it did feel like it was back to normal, I ran nearly 4 tenths slower. Well, at least that's a fairly cheap upgrade.

 

If your tron between the k04 and gt28rs wait until the ATP gt28rs version comes out. It's a direct k03 replacement...supposedly no maifold mods are necessary. Check it out at atpturbo.com

 

i ran 17psi on my k03 and blew it in 2 months, dont turn the boost up that high unless you want it to die

No it doesn't, it makes peak torque earlier.

 

i have never seen a dyno graph showing the k04 making more torque than a gt28rs

Sorry to jump in, but I got a GIAC chip upgrade and a new DV. I asked the installer what boost I am at now, and this is what he replied :

"The GIAC software runs approximately 18psi then tapers down to 14psi."

Should I be concerned - I dont want a blown turbo. I have the K03.

 

Ko4s are a torque turbo, and most times make more torque then bigger turbos. I seen ko4 tq dynos that are about 355tq/pd.
