ok so does everybody remember when those "front mounted intakes" came out for honda's...how the intake filter was wide and kinda looked like an intercooler...but it was simply just a cold air intake...well that idea got my and my friends thinkin...

could you get a non turbo car and weld on a flange for a BOV, and than run a BOV off of your intake pipe on a non turbo car....first off, i would NEVER EVER EVER think about doing this...i just wanna know if this is even possible.

I know a BOV/DV works by discharging the left over air in your I/C piping, but in a non turbo car does when the TB shuts..where does the air in the intake go?? does it just chill in their, lol.

I just wanted to get everyones expertise on this stupid idea.

i dont think there would be enough pressure to set it off?

actually, a n/a car makes about 1-3 lbs of boost, hook a gauge up and revel. so i suppose you could get a bov on one.

the only way i feel like this would work is if it's a pressurized airbox. I had a motorcycle which had ram-air w/ a pressurized airbox. You could theoretically run a bov in there, but then it would negate the purpose of the pressurized airbox.

What is it that you'd like to accomplish by putting on the bov? the sound? Hook up a PA to your car which add's sounds, for one of the sounds, get a sample of the "pssshhhhh" of a bov, and push the button when youw ant the sound. much cheaper, and then you can yell at people while in traffic.
