Default messed up!!!

I messed up...I put regular oil instead of synthetic this last oil change! I know this is bad for the engine, but what should I do now? Just replace with synthetic again or drive this oil out and replace in a few thousand miles. Should I add an oil additive to clean it out? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I'm new to the forums, but after searching I'd probly advise doing the Sea-Foam crankcase treatment on the next oil change. Pour about 1/2 can of SeaFoam into your crankcase (where you add oil) and let the car idle for about 10 minutes. Change the oil immediately thereafter. That should clean some of the crap out that the regular oil left in. Let me know what you vets to the forum think.

It depends on what kind of car you have. If you have a 2.8/3.0, don't worry about it, just put in synthetic next time. If you have a 1.8t or a 2.0t, I would do another oil change & put in synthetic. Regular dino oil can cook a turbo, if you drive it hard.

how long ago was the oil change? miles that is

and get that crap out, i pour in about 1/2 quart of clean to get the old stuff out, drain, then when you are about out, add clean and wait to see the clean, then cap and add more

Im in the same boat you are kind of, when i bought my a4 they did and oil change those F**Ks put in some garbage oil, so now i got full syn and new oil filter and a couple other parts but im wondering if its driving hard(kinda did lay into it last 1000 miles) i have a 3.0 btw if i should be concerned. Ive noticed a strong coolant odor but that not related i dont think so should there be anything i have to worry about. Should i try the seafoam stuff or jsut change and keep an eye on my levels and alll that good stuff. I bought Jsutice Brothers Engine Tune up its when i got my oil change stuff from ECS was going to put it in to clean up some of the biuld up, i got 80K and no service records
