MIL light flashing, car shaking
Hey guys. I was going to go hang out with my friends a few minutes ago, I was heading towards the freeway and the car started vibrating more aggressively. Felt like a really rough idle, I thought maybe I was running over some bumps in the road but 5 seconds later the shaking continued and the little light popped up saying Check Engine. I just had the car serviced last week too! Anyways I pulled over, popped the hood, made sure there was no smoke, checked the oil and the tires, everything looked fine, I looked in the manual and it said it was the MIL light and I should bring it to the service center to have it checked. I decided my car probably wouldnt explode so I drove it back home and decided to do some research, I cant find any information about this anywhere. Anyone seen or heard of this problem before? any ideas what it could be?
thanks in advance!
BTW: its a 2003 Audi A4 V6 3liter (Quattro) with 86k miles

Sounds like a misfire in one ore more cylinders.
The best way to troubleshoot it is have the codes read and go from there.
Any OBDII reader will do, autozone will read them for you if you dont know anyone with a code reader or vag-com.

I'm gambling that you have a misfire in cylinder 2. You will fix this problem by buying a new Ignition control Unit. DO NOT BUY ONE FROM THE STEALERSHIP. unless you want to waste about $200 dollars when you can just get one online. I recommend Meyle or Bosch. try ebay as well. sometimes you can get lucky and buy a new meyle for around $70. hope this helps.

Ok update:
I called the Audi dealership and they told me not to drive on the car if the MIL light is flashing. IS this the truth? How should I bring the car in to have it serviced? do Iseriously need to have it towed in?!
Also, I turned on the car to refresh my memory of what it felt like so I could explain it to the Audi service center and I noticed that there was come clankity clank noise coming from somewhere in the engine, soudned like something rattling maybe? This sound familiar at all?
Also, I was afraid to bring the car to get the codes read cause the MIL light was flashing and the Dealership said not to drive on it under those conditions...
Thanks!
