Default More Torque

I have a 1999 2.8 MQ and i wanted to know what is the best performance mod for torque. I could care very little about the top speed than the acceleration. I dont want anyone to reply with get a supercharger (I dont have that kind of money right now).

Minimal gains from an air filter in both categories (with an exhaust and air filter). But if your not looking for a huge amount of gains right now it couldn't hurt because in the future that will assist other upgrades! [sm=burnout.gif]

I've read that an air filter does pretty much jack-squat in the A4. Depending on the filter you could run the risk of damaging your MAF sensor. There's a video of a guy(sorry can't remember where) sifting sand thru his K&N..hmm, sand in my engine..sounds fun no? Maybe it is different on the NA engines..

Sifting sand? Maybe if you don't oil it. I've used K&N filters for years with no problems, however, it is possible to foul your MAF if you over-oil a K&N.

As I understand it, heavy equipment like graders, backhoes, etc. have been using oil-soaked cotton gauze air filters for years specifically because of their ability to cope in conditions with extreme sand & dust.

That's assuming that my perception isn't muddy...

KJ,
Do you live in a van by the river?....

If you've got a tip, don't get a snub mount unless you like driving a bumble-ball.
