Hello everybody.I just buy a audi A4 2004 multitronic and I am a little confused.I think the car has some problems with the automatic transmision and I don't know what to do.Sometimes all the gears from the dash display are light with red intermitently(P,R,N,D,S),but the car is ok(i mean she changes the gears).Another problem is that when i put in R there is no red light on the dash display so the car i think doesn't know that she is in R(i can accelerate the car but she doesn't go faster in R,she goes back very slowly).This 2 problems are not all the time,once or twice per day it happens like this.The car has no warranty,and i'm scarred thet i must buy another automatic transmision wich i understand it is very expensive.
Can anyone tell me what to do?

yep sounds very familiar same thing is happening to my car now. went to a few audi dealers the 1st one said that i need a new gearbox ecu quoted me 1500 euro for the part and the reprograming of the new ecu. Second dealer told me that i need a new gearbox!! which is 5000 !!![:@] Dont now what to do now...who to belive...If you got yours sorted,maybe you can tell me what whas done to rectify this problem.
