Default My 2005 A4 1.8

Hello,
I am new to Audi and to this board. I have always loved the looks, but never had the sense to buy one.
I have been reading this board for months before buying a bright red 2005 A4 1.8T S-Line with the auto trans... I wanted a manual, but I saw this car with 7,000 miles on it and the price was right.... So I bought it on the fly.
Now I am looking at the mods websites and am thinking I made a mistake.
Do you have to have a manual tranny to be able to buy performance parts for these cars?
I already installed a Carbonio Intake....didn't really do anything yet, maybe some noise, I want to purchase an exhuast system, but most sites only show "Manual Trans'
I was looking at the stage 1+ at AWE for the chip upgrade, but I am unclear. I am willing to spend the money for bigger injectors... I have seen Cam Kits I would pay for..etc.

Could someone tell me what I have as far as the turbo, DV, What is the KO2 (could have delivered that wrong, but you people will know what I am trying to say) Do I have anything specific to worry about with a 2005 car...etc.

I am not overly worried about warranty or what the service techs at Audi are going to say, I have a few bucks to fix whatever comes up.
Bottom line...I love the way the car looks, it is a very fun car to drive or be seen in, it's comfortable...but my wife's Turbo Volvo blows my doors off...and I can't deal with that!
So, if money wasn't an issue, and driving the car daily was, what would you veterans do to make sure a Volvo 2.5T can't spank this car?

PS... I am not really looking for miracles, I do have horsepower cars in the stable, all USA made however, but I cannot be slower than my wife's car for our daily drivers.

Thanks,
Help Needed

there are exhausts systems that will work for automatic transmissions. Neuspeed, maganflow, AWE to name a few. If you mean K03 that is your turbo. You can always upgrade to the K04 later on if you wanted a bigger turbo. I have an 05 1.8T and haven't had any problems with it so far performance wise. Hope you enjoy the ride!

Thanks for the response. I knew it was KO...something!
Do you plan on messing with your turbo, or just leaving what you have in place? Is the upgrade worth it?
If you did upgrade what exhaust would you go with?
Thanks,
Jim

Volvo's 2.5T is something like 255hp right??? You might have trouble spanking one with the 1.8t I think. I dont think they still use the k03 in late model 1.8t's. Go with a chip and borla exhaust and youll be very happy. Even then you wont be spanking a Volvo 2.5T. I think youd have to get a bigger turbo+supporting mods to spank a 2.5t. If you did that, youd have to get a level10 tranny upgrade to support the added power reliably, which is about $800 for the part.

The auto trans does limit your options, but you can always install "Level 10" components in your transmission, and it will be able to hold much more torque... if you have the money laying around, dooo it
Also, the big turbo options are awesome for the B6's... so just do that. Get an exhaust, clutch, FMIC, Level 10, and a GT2871r or something turbo... haha
www.renn-art.com is a sponsor of this site, and has pricing on lots of stuff. Level 10 has a website... I know it has been talked about recently on the forums, and there is a level 10 something-or-other for sale right now in the performance parts classifieds section @ www.audizine.com.

the stage 1+ upgrade (chip + larger injectors), along with a good cat-back exhaust and your carbonio should get you at least up to speed with the 2.5T..like onepoint said, unless you want to do a big turbo and level 10 tranny, you won't be spanking a 2.5T any time soon.

Thanks for the replies guys!
I will look into EVERYTHING you have been saying. I don't have money "laying around" but some things I can conceal from the wife. She has approved the fact that I need to spend an additional $2000 to do SOMETHING to not have her car kick my ***!
(we are very competitive) Actually, she probably drives it more than me as I have a truck that is usually needed by my company for work, so I commonly drive that. She likes MY car more than the Volvo. I guess we feel better behind the wheel, huh?
She wants it faster too.... is the bottom line, she just does'nt admit it to me.
Her toy is a 2003 Z-06 Vette for ***** sake!
Thanks for the input,
Jim

Haha 2 grand... 6 grand... whatever. Up to 330 wheel horsepower with the GT71r turbo on a b6, apparently. That's over 400 at the crank... Not even the Z06 would really shame the Audi after that. It'd still beat it... but not shame it! 405 hp in the Z06 right? And obviously a lot lighter at like 3100~ lbs... but still. Think about this!

Yeah I'm trying to live vicariously through others right now... clearly. I want a big turbo!
