Go to the DIY section - there is a writeup on how to prevent a CEL. Its a pretty easy DIY.

I don't know. I am going to get a test pipe, just keep my cat for emissions. swap them in and out. Its a pain, but its gotta be done.

Got fucked... Bastard had a used test pipe for a gt28r tryed to tell me it would fit a k03 riiiiggghhhtt... **** AP TUNING!

 

well to explain what a test pipe is first, its a cat replacement pipe flanged at both ends easily made and you choose the size of diameter it wont throw a CEL light as long as you leave the o2 sensors in the system and connected

and yes its illegal depending on which state your in, many fit them and refit the cat for emissions tests to save on buying a very expensive cat when its shot so you always have a good cat for the emissions test
