Hi all!

First time poster here...

We've just bought a MY99 1999 A4 turbo sedan - the car currently has 17" wheels on it, and tyres the dealer says he pulled off a TT (!!!) at 225/45/17. But I think the stock 1999 A4 had 16" - 205/55/R16. They are definitely Audi rims - is something fishy going on here? Can anyone shed any light on this at all? Sorry, I'm a complete noob!!

yes, 225/50/16 original AUDI tires. but y are u complaining? it's a used audi, lots of people upgrade, u got biger size, i dont see any problems with that.
not sure about Audi TT, but A8 has 17"

the reason i'm concerned is that if the car is fitted with non-standard rims, the police can defect it and the insurance company can void the insurance.

here is the car - does anyone know anything about these audi rims?

 

17's were original equiptment on the TT's and even up to 18's on the 225 and the ALMS so be happy

 

i live in the US and i dun think i have ever seen those on any TT's around here

 

sorry i should have been clearer - the tires came from a TT, the rims did not.

as far as the police detecting the difference between stock and aftermarket if you are in the UK or Germany or something the RS4 was sold over there and had the same body style and came from the factory with 18's

 

looks like those wheels were a factory option from a 98+ A6
