Ned Help!! Brake Pads totally gone
Hello All,
I have Audi A4 Quattro 2001. I need help in buying some brake pads for fronts and rear. My front pads are totally worned out and making huge noise. I think the pads are rubbing the rotors. I thought my car will indicate when the brake pads are close but I don’t know why it didn’t indicate any. Does my car got no sensors?
I read many posts about brakes and rotors here and didn’t decide what to pick and where to buy them. I need them as early as possible as I cannot drive now because I think my rotors will be gone if I drive.
I read many posts about Mintex red box brake pads are they good for my car? Is there any place in Colorado that can I go and buy them? I live in Colorado Springs. If not can anyone please provide some online links where I can buy them for less. Do I have to buy with or without sensors?
Thanks for all the inputs.

i have those on my car too. they say they are dustless but there is dust. to tell you the truth, best pads are from the dealer as of braking wise they hold really well. but if you are going aftermarket i would go with the mintex

Thanks kraylon. I called Randy today and he said Mintex pads are garbage and they are like fire and that is why they are called as Red Box. He recommended Pegid brake pads and he also gave a mechanic info that is available in Colorado Springs. Randy gave a quote total of $600 ($100 (front pads) + $150 (front rotors) + $52 (rear pads) + $120 (rear rotors) +$180 Labor).
Please advice
I have the mintx red box, they are not bad at all. Of course he quoted you front pads for $100, the red box are like $50. So, of course if you spend twice as much, you'll get a better pad. I am happy with the price/performance of the red box. I drive it pretty hard too.
