Default Need Advice: Factort BT,Nav & Bose vs. Aftermarket

Hi All,

I am getting a 2.0 A4 for one of my sons and am trying to figure out the relative merits ( cost/warranty/function) of getting the factory Bose, Nav and Bluetooth, vs. having a reliable shop add those features here in So. Cal.-Newport Beach - San Clemente area. Ipod connectivity and multi CD changer preferred, of course. He has an Alpine amp for a sub in mis beater Mbz that can be removed, although the sub can't be reused.

Any help much appreciated

Thank you very much

Very lucky son you have there. I'd think it would be easier to get it all done from the dealer and not have to pay another install fee. Ipod you should do elsewhere, cuz its not factory (right?).

Check out www.audiusa.com and if you go to the "Build Your A4" option, select the necessary packages for the Nav plus and click on the option itself. It brings up a little display with a few features.

Ok.

I have found a car with factory NAV, Bluetooth, but not the Bose upgrade.

Could someone please let me know what I could plut in the car for the $1,000.00 Bose value?

If adding the Ipod connection, how much functinality will be available from the car's controls in this case?

Thank you very much

Are you looking to put $1,000 in sound or anything?

Hi Miked,
The 1K is for the sound system only, as the car I have on hold has Bluetooth, Nav and all the other features I want for the rascal. I am not interested in driving performance mods. The Bose system is a 1K option, so I am trying to get to that level or higher as the car with Bose isn't available.

Thank you very much

I say go with a nice JBL amp or something of equal quality to power 1 10" sub, and maybe get some component speakers if its within budget.

www.crutchfield.com has a lot of good info/sizing.
