Hi guys, I have a 2006 A4 2.0T, Front wheel Drive. It is a 6 spd manual transmission. I leased the car brand new, and have the car already for about 1 year. like 3 days ago i was driving the car and suddenly when i would shift the car it would not get into gears, it just stays like in 2nd or 3rd i do not remeber , but the car drive normal until i got home. luccky i was very near my house. I took the car to the dealer , and what they told me was that they were going to inspect the car and it would be like 2 hours to inspect it. I call the nex day they tell me is the clutch that was gone. ( i forgot to mention the clutch when i press it with my foot was like very soft, it would go down all the way but it would not change to any gear) i go and talk to the service advisor i ask him what they did , he tells me he does not know, so i ask him how do they know is the clutch? i ask him if they open the clutch he tells me no they did not , so i ask him how the hell they know is the clutch? he answers i do not know about that, that is what the mechanic told me. theey wanted to charge me 2 hour at $125 per hour, and i guess they just try out the car only and wanted to charge me 2 hours .what a bunch of thieves. They tell me that is not under the warranty, wear and tear, they tell me if they open the clutch it would be 5 hours at $125 per hour, and if the clutch is damage they will not repair the car unless i want to but the whole thing would cost me $2500. i tell him do not do anything i will take it to another repair shop. i took to another repair shiop and the mechanic tells me that he has not open the clucth but what he thinks is that i down shifted at a high rpm and the sincronization of the clucth got out of palce or something like that, i am not an expert in mechanic.

Has these happen to any of you guys? what do you think i should do? if what the 2nd mechanic told me happened would it be under audi warranty? please guys let me know what should i do? need your help urgent.

I do not race the car, or do donuts or nothing at all. I drive fast but that should not damage the car. if it is the syncro would it be under audi waranty?
