Need HELP Please
Hello everyone. I've search everywhere for the answer to this question and I haven't found anything. Maybe I haven't used the correct search terms, but I can say I at least I tried. Now to the subject.... My girlfriend has an 05' 2.0T AT and the car is great! One thing that she (and I too) doesn't like is the horrible transmission lag when accelerating from a stop. You can put the pedal to the floor and nothing happens for about a second and a half then all of a sudden, there's the power. It doesn't sound or feel like anything is slipping because when it finally grips, it SHOOTS. This has gotten us both into trouble when trying to turn in front of approaching traffic. I was hoping this was a ECU setting for a softer more "smooth" shift that can be programmed out, or at least lessened. Maybe it is a mechanical issue. Either way, we can't be the only ones that have this problem. Your insite into this matter is greatly appreciated.
Great forum BTW. I had a chance to troll around while searching for answers and I noticed that you have a nice community here. Kudos!

Been in a few '07 's....A3 and A4 2.0T's and they both did that.....partly because of the automatic and partly turbo lag.....IMO But, if you don't floor the car from a stand-still, and just give it moderate gas, it should'nt do that-
test drive another A4 just to see how it feels, then have service guy compare two cars or just talk to another audi dealer, dealer wont fix your car just because he have to, most of the time you have to complain and have some kind f prove.
Obviously I don't floor it all the time if at all. It was an example to illustrate that it isn't a gradual increase in power that a slipage would induce, but a delay in throttle reaction. This isn't turbo lag. It's either computer lag or transmission lag. So basically what you guys are telling me is that this isn't common and I'll have to duke it out with the stealership?
