Need Help With Shifter!! Please Someone Help, I can't drive!!
 

Ok one day I am driving and i shift out of gear i hear a spring pop, all of a sudden I can't shift into my gears easily I have to jam it I get in 1st then 2nd then 3rd. I opened it up and did a transplant got a whole new assembly, new shifter everything. I still have the same problem i go into 1st 2nd 3rd then 4th non existant, i cant reverse. When this problem firstoccured I could go into reverse and everything it was just really tough. Now what should I do? Do I need to replace the linkage as well? The transmission works fine. Please someone help me out I have been stranded some days now.

check to see if the linkage is jamed up or bent you will need to jack the car up and crawl under it to see the linkage

Sounds like you might wanna take the shift cover off and have a look underneath where the magic happens, something went wrong clearly... Is it possible to have someone whos "Carsmart" take a quick loot at the car even though you can't bring it to them... if so. Do that.
