I got pulled over in her car for "No front license plate" told him it was in the trunk and there was no bracket for it. He looked and the front of her car and checked out the extra plate. Let me go on my way (no warning).
Yeah, that's happened to me twice now, both times at a toll booth on my way to work where they wait and pick off expired inspection stickers, etc. The only difference was that I was warned that I had to get it fixed. Something tells me that the third time will not be the charm, so I'm finally adding the plate after 4 years of ownership. I much prefer the look without it, but I fear my unticketed days are numbered.

i just moved from PA to CA and I had to do the same thing...put a front plate bracket on my car. I am a cheap-*** though, and there is NO way i was going to buy the "audi" bracket for $40 and have the audi dealership install it. I simply went to Auto-Zone and bought a $7.99 bracket and drilled that sucker right into my front bumper. Wa-la!

Oh, and i'm a girl, too!

Whew! Who knew there was metal behind that plastic bumper cover?

In any case, the front plate is now (lamentably) affixed to the front bumper, and it doesn't look as bad as I feared. Pic of VA vanity plate OWW DEE to follow, I hope.
