Need a new engine.. anyone got??
In the interim, you could check dads auto, or shoksan for engines.
If it happened soon after the belt replacement, then they are liable. Get estimated costs of repair or replacement and take them to small claims court if it meets the cost limits.

It happened right after they did the timing belt and water pump. I called to see if the car was done and they told me that there was another problem with the car because it is not running right and it smoked. I had the car towed back to me and found out that it was not timed right. They only timed it on the left cam and not the right. I called them on it and they said that you dont have to do both of them!
Why the hell would you have the car towed back to your house????????????????????
If the car wasn't running, it stays at the shop until they fix it. If they can't do it, they can have it towed to another shop of your choosing, but there is no freakin way I would have the car towed to my house because it wasn't working. If the shop can't figure it out, I sure as crap don't think I am going to have some mighty revelation about the problem by poking around under the hood.
And the shop said you only have to do timing on one side????
Do shops exist that are this clueless? Where did you take your Audi, to some junkyard mechanic or something?
IDK man, something here just doesn't sound right. I am calling BULLSH** on this whole thread!

WTF???? No this thread is not BULLSH*** I was on my way home from a funeral and the car started to over heat. So I had to have it towed to a radiator shop here in Port Huron Michigan called DeFours Radiator. They were doing the Water Pump and Timing belt. It took them 4 Days and $674 of my money. I called them the day that it was supposed to be done and they said that there was another problem, that there might be a blown head gasket or something. So i figured that something else was wrong. When I got the car back to me I noticed that they torched a hole in the fan pulley, broke my ignition coil, crossed my plug wires and so I called them. I asked if they took both covers off to time the car and the guy said "No, you dont need to do that" I asked if he knew about the torched hole in the pulley and he said "yeah I know about that and I can see if we can find a used pulley from the junk yard for you" I then told him that I wanted them to fix it because it ran perfrctly fine before I took it there and they said that they did what had to be done with it and they even had to buy a book for it and that they will not fix it or give me any money back on the service performed.
This is not BULLSH**... I have called the state and I also called the BBB on them. You can look them up and call them and ask them for yourself about this.

you took it to a mechanic who first off needed to buy a book he didn't have to fix your car.. which means he has no experience with german cars... wants to get replacements from a junkyard... and you're surprised this happened? I hate to say it like that.. but come on [8D]
Sorry to hear about your luck.
I would have an audi shop repair it, and document how bad this mechanic screwed things up, then hire an attorney and sue them for the cost and damages.
Its a huge hassle, but you should not have to much trouble winning this case.
Good luck to you.

First off I did not know that they needed to buy a book until I got the car back and complained to them about the repairs. Second I did not know that they did not have experience with German cars. If I would have known all of this I would have taken it to a Import only shop.
