Default New Audi A4 owner

Hello all,

I am a brand nee Audi owner. I just bought a used 2004 A4 1.8T. And so far I love it.

Is there any advise, or key maintenance that I really need to make keep up on?

Thanks everyone.

Why would the Tbelt be replaced already on an 04???

Just keep up on all the maintnance... If you do it yourself-youll save HUGE. If you have a warranty modding will be harder to get away with, without voiding it. You could get a chip which is undetectable to the dealer if you have a warranty. Being an 04, Id assume the major maintnance will be in a few years such as timing belt. Have fun-post pictures. You can find just about any info you need on this site.

Use a VW 502.00 synthetic oil on a 5k mi / 8k km OCI for mostly highway driving, 3k mi / 5k km for city ("severe") driving.

If you have a tip, change the ATF and filter at least every 40k mi / 65k km, even though the dealer will tell you not to.

This is an interesting piece of advice I hadn't run across - Cheers!

I idle before shutting her off to allow the turbo to spin down - not sure if this is 'pop' for the Audi but it's a habit I learned from turbos past.
