New to Audi - Question on DV / Intakes

Hey everyone...I am new to the Audi world as I picked up an 02 A4 1.8T Quattro last week.

I have been searching the forums and I've decided that I am going to chip it, as well as upgrade the intake and DV. I was thinking the Forge 007 and the APR stock, 91, 93octane programs. From what I was told I can switch back and forth from the programs...is this true?

Also I've been looking around for intakes, and saw this one on ebay:

I know ebay is usually crap, but SOMETIMES you can find something decent....Not sure if this product would work or not...

Anyways, any help would be appreciated...I'm near Toronto Canada and not sure if there are any other Canucks on the board...

I owned a 2003 Hyundai Tiburon which I took to numerous shows and made the jump to Audi....and love it (so far!)

007 dv is fine. And you wont see any gains with an intake. If you want, you can make the same style kit as above with a 2.75" U bend, 2.75" coupler and filter that fits 2.75" Total cost should be far under $100 (depending on the cost of the filter).

nice looking car. why are you getting both a 91 and 93 tune. do you have problems finding only one type of gas in your city?

lol...Gotta love having an actual QUALITY interior :)

I didn't plan on modding this car for a couple of years, but after seeing the #'s from chipping it, it has to be done!

I've always done the intake first on all of my previous cars...although this is my first F/I car. Never noticed much of a gain, but does give it a more throaty sound (on n/a cars). I read that you can hear the turbo more with an intake & upgraded dv. It may be rice, but I personally like that sound :)

The octane, I'm not sure about. I've seen one station have 93 octane, but all others have 91. I'm brand new to this idea, so I may just get the 91...I have to read a little more into it...

You will deffinatly get more sound with an intake. Even with a 91 or 93 chip, you will be fine putting the other in if needed.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but on a 93 octane program, do you have to use 93 octane fuel?

If you get a 93 octane chip, you should have access to 93 just about all the time and 91 if you dont. If you have a 93 oct chip, putting in 91 from time to time isnt going to hurt anything. At most you may pull a degree or 2 of timing.
