just get a highflow cat, or a testpipe. But a cat will not limit how much power you make, it may lower the overall power, but not limit it. Thats just foolish.

alright...if you want to win a race with your 2.8...either run nitrous (another 2.8er on the forum does, and he keeps up w stock s4's(i'm pretty sure))...or do a pez supercharger...your internals will have no trouble with the psi that most 2.8ers run... for the money you are gonna end up spending, you could bolt a 1.8T to your tranny and drop a k04 pc-16 on it....I honestly can not feasibly imagine a 2.8 pushing 400whp....oh, I may have read the post wrong, but it sounds like you need to delete yo cat

good luck!

I have seen people with twin turbo 2.8L cars. Get a couple used ko3s for $100 each and get some manifolds made. No lag and the turbos can easily do 20psi. That should get you well into the 300whp range and more than keep up with s4's.

The twin turbo'd idea... how much prep work am I looking at before install... reality wise is it in the interest of my pockets to go with the twin turbo'd idea... I'd rather do that and just buy some monster turbos... Lemme know i'm interesed

Go with a custom SC setup similar to a PES G1, so you can run a big'ole front mount, and put a tiny little pulley on it. The custom turbo setup isn't really ideal for your pockets considering the guy who did it owns a shop, got most of his supplies for cheap, and it still costs him over $10 grand, or was it $5, I can't remember, DOH!

I seriously hope you dont give up. There are SOOOOOOOOOOOO many people with 2.8's that have big power aspirations that never turn into a reality. The most I have ever seen done is either a super charger or a shitty half assedattempt at a remote turbo setup. Lots of people are able to beef the engine's internals up and fabricate a twin turbo setup w/manifolds, but engine management is where Ive seen people get stuck or give up. Either way, you are going to end up spending more than what it would cost to sell your car and buy an S4, or even a 1.8t and mod it. You are gauranteed to have much more money in the car than what it would be worth. Have you considered the giplantic loss you would take if for some reason it got totalled or stolen?

Yes I have and i'm debating my options all day every day... Mr. Schimmel called me about a half hour ago and I missed his call... I think he's going to be my last option man... If not I doubt I will sell my car for something else... However i'd prob. take a draft check out from the bank and find something a little more unique will a lot of potential... Think of any audi's that fit this bill...

The 1.8 T crazy mods can go 400 whp couple guys on here got that big power going on.

RE: New guy doing big things

If I were you, Id find a 99.5 1.8t, drop a 2.8 tranny in it, find the biggest turbo that will fit and get a good tune for it along with all the other supporting mods. But I know you were looking for something unconventional, so i dunno. Getting 400 whp with an S4 would be too easy :)
