Hi im new here, so please go easy on me, as i'm sure this has been asked many times before. I've been into the DSM thing for the last 6 years, and picked up an A4, so I wouldnt have to fix my car every other day. The thing is I got a 96' A4 2.8 quattro, Its in beautiful shape but its got 177K miles. I was intereted in seeing if the S4 engine could be swapped in. Any info would be appreciated, even if someone knows where I could pick up a fresh 2.8. Thanks

 

Your best bet would be to pick up a used 30v 2.8 engine and s/c. 300hp with lil to no mods.

AFAIK nothing matches up and you'll have to include a new drivetrain.

 

if u want an S4 engine just sell your a4 and buy an S4

or go one better and sell the a4 and buy a real mans car, like a saleen

 

how much did your saleen cost and how powerful is it

 

He left, but i can tell you it makes 500rwhp. Im pretty sure he said its a bell s/c making 19psi.

Cool, thanks for the advice guys. I bought this A4 cause I didnt want to mod anymore cars, but Its hard going from a 450WHP GSX to a 172 HP sedan. I think I'll just look into a nice rebuild and the PES supercharger. Thanks again

 

the PES is only for the 30V....there is no supercharger for the 12V. and it's not worth it to swap the 30V heads onto the 12V block...just get a complete 30V engine....i too bought the 12V to keep me out of trouble...i'm one speeding ticket away from getting it suspended (thanks to my brother's 240 silvia). it's the most reliable engine audi makes...but it's also one of the least mod friendly...
