Default New MAF

Long story short. I have been dealing with a check engine light for months (P1137) after searching the forums and replacing numerous parts I concluded it had to be the MAF. cleaned it and the car ran fine for a while, then the CEL came back on and the car ran worse than ever, disconnected the MAF car runs fine.

I need a new MAF but am a bit reluctant to buy an OEM one as the one currently in the car is OEM and is only a year old.
Any suggestions for an alternative and a good place to get it would be appreciated.
(Yes I searched this, didn't find what I was looking for)

Try cleaning it again, maybe its not bad but dirty. It should last longer that that! Was there any kind of warranty on the part, was it from a dealer?

From wat i have seen if its the Bosch MAF and u spray with alcohol and let it air dry - dont rub, it will work a bit longer but will mostly **** itself again?

Not sure bout u car but i think it was VAST that deos the Hitachi MAF conversion

There pretty cheap at ECS and WorldImpex

Also if u are using ani sort of oil filter, just f**k it off and go back to stock, to stop u stuffin u MAF

If I take that thing out of there again it's going to be because I have a new one to put in. I have no idea if there is a warranty on the part but I think it may be more of a hassle to get them to replace it for free, than it's worth. The dealership that I bought the car from replaced the MAF so I suppose I could go back to them and complain, however I kind of pissed them off, shortly after buying the car, so maybe not.

I just had my MAF replaced under warranty. Give it a try.

I'll ask the question but I have 95,000 miles

If the dealership says no, do you have any other suggestions or does Bosch have somewhat of a monopoly on the Audi MAF sensor arena.

Ecstuning seems to have the best price on MAF's. Cleaning it normally helps, but not for long. Dont leave your maf disconnected for too long though because you are running real rich by doing that. I would only keep it disconnected if your bad maf is causing you to run lean and detonate. Better to run rich than lean.
