Default New owner here

i just purchased my audi. Its the first one ive ever had and i already love it. Its a 98 a4 quattro 1.8t with a 5 spd. Its totally stock performance wise and it only has 60 thousand on the motor. black with grey leather sunroof heated seats and a bunch of cool stuff. I had a question though the car is wearing the insides of the rear tires. badly the camber is way off and the vehicle is stock hieght. any one run into this. im hoping its not a major problem. any adivce is welcome. other than that the abs light is on and im not in a hurry to see whats wrong im afraid it could wind up being expensive to fix. other than that the car is awesome had a new clutch 12k ago and it has new tires. anything i should check for? thanks in advance guys

Hello We just picked up a 99 for my fiance so I'm new to these cars too. If you're worried about the tires wearing I'd get the alignment checked out first. It may not be the camber thats off but the toe thats causing the inner part of the tire to wear. I'm not sure if you can even set the camber on these without some type of kit?

Maybe you could try and search on here about the ABS light coming on? I believe ours had a similar problem(before we got it) and the last owner had the abs controller replaced by the dealer. Good luck!

thanks i looked to today for myself and believe the toe is definately out on the right hand side the tire is cupped badly front and rear. the front is caused by a bad outer tie rod end which ill replace tomorrow if i can find the part readily. The abs thing i will look into eventually just not looking to spend money on it since i dont mind not haveing it. I guess the car is a 98.5 or something it was built in 7/98 but i was told audi does half year. Overall im very happy with the car it is totally stock except the rims. it has 17 inch audi rims on it wearing 225/35/17 and this thing handles increadibly. its the best handling car i have ever owned. I took today and checked the plugs with have 60 thousand miles on them they a nice tan color and clean the previous owner ran 93 and it shows. The turbo was replaced when the motor was because he lost a timing belt and it sent pieces everywear. Ive put 350 miles on it and i love it! I mean i love my truck but this car is nice

that news doesnt excite me any. well i changed the tie rod end today 40 bux not bad and took about 15 minutes to change. i need to get it aligned i got it close by setting it to what the old one was but i would like it better. i am going to drive it a bit but i think i may sell my truck and just use this as a daily driver sports car i really wanna get the revo chip but some say you have to do a bunch of other work first. i dunno ill just keep doin research thanks for the info guys.
