i haven't noticed much talk about anyone gettin new drilled or slotted rotors on the forum...if anyone has replaced their OEM ones, do you prefer drilled or slotted or both?...and which brand--Powerslot, Zimmerman, or Brembo?? Thanks

drilled or slotted have a tendency to crack. have to pay a fair whack for the ones that are forged with the holes already in them, as opposed to the post-drilled ones. There are brands with 'dimples' in that are better. They do not crack, and get rid of crap just as well. On another point, there is a lot of crap spouted as brake pads releasing gasses, and stuff and people call it brake fade. It is more often than not the brake fluid boiling that causes brake fade, and not the pads. Just fyi.

I used to run slotted ECS rotors. No substantial breaking increase and a LOT more dust.

For the vast majority of cars, the oem brake discs are perfectly fine. These companies will not spend millions developing a car, and plonk on some old bin lids for brakes. They are one of the most important bits on a car. Why do you want to change anyway? Are your stock brakes not braking?

no they're braking fine, i just noticed that there's a bit of a lip starting on the rotors and they may need to be changed or even just turned soon. so i figured if i needed to change them then i was gonna get aftermarket ones

Just because they are aftermarket, doesn't mean they are better. Buy whichever ones you feel are best, but remember that the groves, and holes, etc, that they drill into brake discs are more often than not just a ploy to make you think they are the dogs bollox. I had black diamond on my MR2 and it made NO difference at all. I went back to Mr T's oem brakes, and they were fine. (You can buy better pads though)
