Will low /almost no transmission fluid not allow the car to go in reverse? the car will go into drive fine but im not about to drive it as it sounds likethe tranny is starving for trans fluid . all the lights work its shows reverse on the dash the reverse light go on but the car doesnt back up.

 

I know this thread is old but i did do a search. the guy who towed the car said the car went into reverse no problem when he towed it in . it just wouldnt drive. will having extremely low trans fluid and the car sitting for a couple weeks cause the valve body to stick that reverse doesnt work now and drive does??

 

does it have low fluid level? and of course it will effect the system but not by standing for a couple of weeks so refill and run it up to pressure and see how it goes, should it still fail on reverse then have it scanned for codes
