No Spark, No Nothing
Hey guys, wondering if you could lend an opinion. I just changed out me timing belt after some teeth had broken off and just put the car back together. Howeve, when I crank the car, the engine turns, but I get no spark..... NOTHING! I just hear the starter motor and the crank shaft turn (had someone veryify that there was movement) but no spark or ignition.... I am stumped. Are there any fuses or cail pack issues that would cause my car to recieve no spark??? I am just really confused and tired of trying to figure this out.
No I didnt check for no spark, but I just assumed since the engine would just not fir up. My Cam sensor shot a code P0343, So I checked it and assume my timing was off. I change the timing, now no code, but still no start either...Do you think my cam sensor could stop my engine from starting??? I am lost, dont know how to check if the sensor is bad. Guess I should check for spark too. What do ya think??
Well, I would. If you are/ are not getting spark, then that at least points us in the direction of the problem.
What year / engine?Since your belt skipped teeth, you are going to wantto make sure thecrank at the bottom is lined up, as well as the camshaft. There are markings for both. I am guessing from you posts that you already know this, but mentioning it just in case. It took me a few to make sure everything was lined up. I also replaced my CPS because Iwas getting a code for it, so I did it while I was in there just to be safe.

2000 1.8T. Yeah I know about lining them up, that was why I got the code in the first place (was 180 degress off) but now the code is gone... I'll check for spark in the morning and then see what happens
