Im looking into buying a 03 A4 Quattro 1.8T with 40,000K I was test driving it today and there is some kind of noise comming from the front its kind of a light rubbing noise.. When you slow down or tap on the breaks it stops, its not constant it comes and goes..This car as had two owners per CARFAX, Im thinking it might be the breaks going out but the car stops pretty solid.. How softer should the breaks be change at this milage or howlong do they last? Anyway Im going to take it to a shop to get checks done and things but before I was my money I wanted to get the opinion of some AudiBuffs!

Sounds like the brakes to me. You can look at them and see how much pad is left on the outside pad. Or just take it to a shop.

this is another thing I noticed that the gas guage is full but the gas light is blinking is this something someone has ever heard of?
