The car is using the fluid correctly I would imagine.
Might also be an air pocket in the system being compressed when hydraulic pressure is applied, but I doubt it.

sounds like a leaky power steering rack, what u need to do is unclip the bellows boots that cover up the inner tie rod ends, and check to see if you got fluid trapped in those, its very common for leaky racks to leak into those boots and not see the leak cuz its all clamped up and sealed.

the car just mesing with you. give her a little spanking on the rear spoiler. Dont forget to bring the liquare to the party. Get her drung by toping of the hydralic fluid to max. then twist her round and round wth wheel without the engine on, ten times would be nice. She likes you when you hot and sweaty. then the pleasure is all yours. turn that engine on and do the same, twist her from lock to lock. And if you pleased the car enough, the fluid would not go that deep again as long as you check. [sm=drooldude.gif][sm=drlove.gif]

LOL <<<<<<<<<<< You got air pocket. If there was a leak the fluid would go without returns. Like my car does. She just drinks and drinks, that is the only way she goes to sleape. oh poor, poor car, she needs to see a shrink and A.A.. [sm=groupwave.gif][sm=happybounce.gif]

I love how in your subject, you are actualy talking to your power steering fluid as if it were your pretty little pet. Sounds like air to me too.

you guys need to pay attention to what he said above and serve this guy a proper diagnosis, he is ADDING fluid every 1-2 days, it is correcting the problem temporarily for those 1-2 days and then his fluid is low again and has to add fluid, it is impossible for the fluid to just simply "diassapear" the fluid is going somewhere, no if there is no visable leak on the ground, there is probably something leaking in the rack, it is probably a leak on the suction side of the rack, so instead of a major type leak it is introducting more air than leaking fluid. now i would just start by taking off those bellows boots to see if you can find a visable leak, or start checkin the rack and hoses and componets as well as ground for leak spots i bet the drip pan could possibly make it appear something is drippin to ground.

oh right, and I wrote all that for nothing. If you trully have a leak thne just on the spot rev the engine not moving around 4000-6500RPM and after like 15 sec, if leaking, you will see a pond of stering fluid. Then you will know for sure you got a leak. That what I did and had to clean the parking lot after that.
My car whent pee-pee.

well from the sound of it i dont know if i would be exoecting a lot of fluid to visably be leaking, however if there is a leak on the suction side of the rack, its going to leak some, but not alot, its going to draw more air into the system then anything else, the suction side is generally easy to fix, goes from rack to reservoir to pump, so i would check to see if anything funky on those lines.

you guys i must say are F*KEN amazing i love the way you reply straight away, this is why i sold my old audi and bought this one with confidence, well i did the reving thing anddddd i noticed leaking under the car, it was comming from the hose that connects to the reservour and the bottom thingi (i think rak) so i put a clamp bcuz it was loose and then, the leaking stoped comming from there, i revved anddd no there is alot less leaking but still a few tiny drops hmmm so im thinking there is another place it could be leaking too i might go keep looking... where else should i check?

AH-HA just as i suspected a leak on the suction side of the rack, that is probably your only leak, i would replace that line personally if it was leaking, but just check all your lines, maybe what you thought was leaking was just like some fluid on your car from the previous leak dripping? i dunno, i would say clean the bay up with some engine brite and once you do that it will be much easier to see if any other remaining leaks.
