I love my 2001 2.8Q, but I am the type that loves to mod. I am currently looking at a 2001 S4 from a dealer here in Columbus for $17,900. I am also looking at a 2002 A4 1.8T with 55,000 miles for $15,900 and a 2003 A4 Avant 1.8T with 45,000 miles for 21,900.
I am not sure what to get, but I know if I ge the S4, I have ot make sure the timinng belt has been changed. I think the 2002 A4 is sweet deal, but the S4 is fast, and the Avant is more practical for my wife, my future baby and myself. Also, let me know if the prices are resonable for these cars. I already checked KBB, but I want your guys opinions.

Go with the Avant, like you said its more practical for your growing family. Besides you can always mod it too.

 

That'll be my next one, an avant. Those things are sleepers... pop in a BT.

 

I also forgot to mention, that I am looking at a 2001 A6 2.7T with 55,000 miles. The car also has a 6-speed manual tranny!!
