Noticed a two inch notch in my disc brake...

Can someone tell me if it is normal to have a two inch notch on the edge or top of the right rear disc brake on my 2014 Audi A4? Please see photo. I just noticed it today, but no issues with the brakes so far. Thanks for your advice.
