Default OFFSET QUESTION

Just wonderng, I'm looking into a set of wheels... but I'm concerned about the offset. They are 32 up front, 28 in the rear... otherwise they are normal, 5x112 17x8's. That rear offset sorta concerns me... it means the wheels will stick out an aditional 10mm, am I correct? Does anybody know if this is doable, on a b5? I'm sure I can do it now, on stock sport suspension... but I want coilovers, so once I lower, I'm concerned I'll run into rubbing issues. HMM. Any input at all is appreciated.

i don't think you'll rub with 17s, even with that offset

Yeah, but 17x8's... I dunno. I might not, just concerned about when I lower it. a 225/45/17 has the same overall diameter (25") as a 225/40/18... according to several tires on tirerack.com ... so I don't think the fact that these are 17's is going to save me. The offset will work, or it wont. ARgh. I am waiting to hear from the guy, so hopefully I can go see them... but if I get a definate "NO" that these won't work... then I will likely not go. I will try them on the car before buying though.

I love the lip in the rear. It'll give you a nice staggered look

Indeed... might just have to wait till the effin guy replies... and go try them on. The fronts wont be a prob, I'll just install the rears and take the car out for a rip. If he has problems with that... then he can sell 'em to somebody else.

Trying them on tomorrow... Pretty stoked! I don't even like them all that much, but they are local, and I like the lip on them.

I NEED COILOVERS IN CANADA! Anybody?
