RE: oil change
thank for the oil change info. what type/ size and all the good stuff plugs should i get? ( want the BEST)
and do i need to change my tranny fluid?? btw its a 02 1.8t |
RE: oil change
Most people just run the oem spark plugs, ngk.
Audi says the tranny fluid is a lifetime fluid, meaning never needs to be changed. But most people change it around 100k miles. |
RE: oil change
Did my oil last night - took me 17 minutes.
I had been getting a small amount of shuddering when it was really cold out and figured it was the 15w50 oil I had in the car being too thick with the cold ( I was supposed to have changed my oil last month but I was too lazy/busy). Switched to 5w30 and all is good. Just an fyi to you guys still running thicker oil in the winter... Filters are all about personal opinion. I mostly use Mann or Bosch, but a couple times when I was in a rush I used a fram (hp2005). But I was always uneasy running it. I put in a K&N oil filter last night. |
RE: oil change
I use K&N oil filters hp2005 (same a fram eh?)
Yah brrman I had the same thing shuddering I changed mine friday 10w-30 though... they didnt have any 5w-30 left... BTW some asshole keeps putting my oil filter on too tight and its imposible to get off when i find out who it is man im gonna... oh wait I change my own oil. |
RE: oil change
I use my trusty screw driver/hammer method when he..er I put them on too tight.

RE: oil change
Actually, Slim, I think I misquoted the K&N filter for the fram one (hp2005). Not sure what the fram part# is.
I take off my coolant reservoir and move it aside when I do my oil - that way I get at the filter from the top and can use a wrench nice and easy. |
RE: oil change
For 1.8t
Fram TG2870A Bosch 3421 |
