Default Oil leaking from turbo? 99' 1.8t

So I have had this problem since I bought the car, the oil would drip slowly from the front passanger side of the car, I think its comming from the turbo oil inlet hose? seeing as I can see smoke coming from it when the motor is nice and warm. So... is there a gasket or soemthing on that oil intake hose I need to replace, I've gotten it apart right now and I dont see anything? Am I missing something guys? Any help would be appricated, thanks! Its a 99' a4 b5 1.8t

Check around your valve cover/seal for a leak.. Thats a common place for a leak that drips way down and smokes when it gets around the manifold area. Check your turbo outlet hose and stuff like you said though.

Is there a copper o-ring or something though? I belive its comming from the inlet tube as I can see smoke coming from around so. (I would guess its oil burning there) but I took it all apart and I saw no o-rings. Also.. how and which way do al those nuts turn? Thanks again

I dunno exactly what you are talking about-what nuts/copper ring?? You talking about the lines coming out the top of the turbo??? Im sure all the nuts are righty-tightly/lefty-losey.

Well... there are three of them, so Ididnt know if say one was righty, then one was lefty to tighten against it. I know in like talons, srt4s and all that we have copper o-rings, but bringing that to the table means nothing to audi, I just thought I might find maybe one resemblence? hah. Any idea what the easiest way to tighten that nut on the top of the turbo is? Maybe a trick I'm not understanding? I just got bak from the store and have it as tight as I can and its still leaking. I dont know what else it could possilby be?

I'm having the same problem, but i have a 2.8. So I don't know if its specific to your turbo. I've taken it in twice to get the valves/seals fixed up, and I'm still having the problem. If anyone can help us it would be greatly appreciated.

Alright so my dad and myself started to look around to see if we could find any more oil. On the passanger side high up it looks like there a oil line going into the radiator? and below it is a bunch of oil running down that black plastic fan shrowd. I took the line out, replaced the o-ring, put it back together. no difference. Where is the oil sensor you speak of? I'll check that next. Can I take pictures of something to show you guys taht might help out any? I just need to get this fixed, its anoying as hell to own a audi that the oil leaks and smells like it. Thanks

I have a similar problem with my A4. When I stop it and pop the hood while it is hot, I will see a very small puff of gray smoke about once a minute. The first time I saw it was during the first 50 miles after I bought the car. I checked around and saw small amounts of oil on the side of the engine above the turbo. I went at the spot with some brake parts cleaner and the smoke stopped for some time. I have not checked it since because I have a keen nose for the smell of burning oil

So is there a way to stop the oil if It were persay leaking from where it goes into the radiator? I dont want to crank on it because it will probably stip that little screw.
Any ideas?
