Hi All:
only 211 KM on car and Oil light came on at 2 am driving from the airport with a car load. Stopped and oil level OK / light came back on after a few minutes of driving / stopped again and added a 1/2 liter of oil engine sounded OK / light came back on but I pushed on (20 minutes) motor shut down and would not restart.
It turns over good (slight clicking sound ) but will not start. I think it,s done?? Where should I start?
Found another engine with 55K for $3300.00 at a auto salvage.

Oil was recently changed 10 days ago. Then the alarm went off on an extended trip. Went back to lube place. I made them verify it had oil It was a half a quart low. The screen reading said "no information available for oil level. New oil was in the car and after 1 hour drive it sounded. Is a half a quart low mean it's burning oil? 45000 miles ?

 

It is possible when the oil was changed they didn't get it all the way full. Little surprised you got a warning for just half a quart. Not sure of the age of your car or the engine type, mine uses oil now to the tune of about a quart every 2500 miles or so. Slowly getting worse as the engine gets more miles on it (230k right now).
