OMG..A Fu**ing HEADACHE!!!!!!!
Your car is pretty new, I'd go back to Audi and get it fixed. I'd hate to see something happen if you went to their preferred place - which may have never done work on Audis - and screw something up.
If they definately screwed something up and refuse to pay the Audi quoted price, I'd tell them you are going to talk to a lawyer about it. I mean if Audi is going to charge $300 + maybe 3 hours of labor? so thats $600 plus good old GST and PST. The tire place should be able to absorb that cost pretty easily - just be patient, be nice but stand your ground - they did something wrong. If the service manager won't budge, tell them you want to talk to the owner and you might get some action that way.

They can't force you to get it fixed there but they can only reimburse you for the amount that their repair people will charge. Look at it from their point of view. They trust this other company becuase they feel they do good work (I hope for your sake anyway that they do good work). Now you want to take your car somewhere else. Audi or Les Schwab may or may not be more expensive but you won't even take your car over to this unknown repair place to get a quote and find out. Now who seems like the jerk. I don't think you have a leg to stand on until you at least go to this other place for a quote. Now if they tell you something different than Audi or Les Schwab , you got a bone to pick with "Serit." I don't think they are being unreasonable.

OK first of all..I don't appreciate being called a jerk. Everyone that responded after you agrees with me. You have a right to your opinion, but if you were in my situation, you'd want to take it somewhere you trust too. If you say it wouldn't matter you'd be lying.
And to everyone else...thank you very much for the help and support. If I have to I'll get a quote from Carl's Brake and Alignment and see what they think. But ultimately I want to go with Sunset Audi. And the part's $300 either way thru Audi. Les Schwab charges $72/hour, Audi charges $90. Carl's (their recommended place) I'm sure charges about the same. So they're the ones that would have no leg to stand on..they messed up..not me.
get their insurance information and take it where ever the hell you like. The reason they want you to take it some place *they* know will do it cheaply or where they get a discount is because they want to pay out of pocket vs increasing their insurance rates.
Seahawkfan94, I'm not calling you jerk. If I was in your shoes I would feel the same way you do but I would at least take my car to their guy for a quote just like you said you are going to do. Then at least I could go back to the tire store and tell them how everything compares and be able to talk sensibly about what the difference in all the quotes and then expalin to them why I want it fixed one place over another. You have to remember that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar and by being patient and working with them this problem will get fixed sooner and with less headaches. The problem we all have when stuff like this happnes is that we get pissed and never want to look at the issue from the other side of the problem. I never said not to get it fixed where you feel most comfortable, all I said was look at the problem from the other guys point of view and work with the guy to get this fixed so you both will be happy.
Brrman, I totally agree with you that bad shops usually reccomend bad shops but I don't see how I'm off track by suggesting that Seahawkfan94 work with the tire shop to get this solved. He'll have less problems that way.
