Default Oxygen Sensor

When are you suppose to replace the oxygen sensor? I heard that you will get better Gas millege if you replace it, how big is the MPG will improve?

I noticed that the universal type is a lot cheaper than the OEM type, is there any difference between the two? Will it affect the car's performance or life?

Where can you buy it for the cheapest online? and about how much will the auto shop charge to install it for you?

Thanks

The univerals types are a cut and splice type deal. Not a good idea on system that operates between 0 and 1 volt. Change out a good sensor with another good sensor will not help milage at all. Just wait untill you get the check engine light for it and then do yourself a favor and replace it with a sensor designed for your car.
