RE: Oxygen Sensor Simulator
It might work, I have seen it not work for some people though. Youll still get a fault code with that type of thing, but probably not a CEL. You can accomplish the same thing by using non foulers (search) which pull the rear 02 sensor out of the flow of CEL causing exhaust gases for about $3-$6 depending on if you use one or 2 of them together. Ive had my test pipe and non foulers in for a couple weeks/200+ miles and havent gotten a CEL.

Just for the rear 02 sensor. The brand name is HELP, and they are 18mm... I found mine at advance auto parts. Check out the middle of this thread for more info on them: http://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/2511177.phtml

I bought a 90* sensor spacer from Wayne Schmidt on VW Vortex, I just installed it yesterday, I'll see how it works. Here is a link to my DIY on AG.

RE: Oxygen Sensor Simulator
I brought my car to a mechanic and told me to purchased a O2 sensor simulator when my secondary audi oxygen sensor is malfunctioning. This could save hundreds of dollars in repairs.
