am consider an 98 audi A4, it has the 2.8L V6, and the 5spd. What to kno how things go for this car? i have a 95 honda civic and im sellin it to upgrade my civic was fast had 130 hp and weighted 1800 lbs so it handled like a charm and was fast it was electronically limited up to 123mph so i would like ot kno what kind of preformance a stock 98 a4 will do? whats its top speed also? and hows it handle i figured quattro would do real well but whats its weight? let me kno thatnks figure its fast cause its designed for the autobahn. thanks

I have a 2001 a4 2.8QM. It handles great with the sport suspension and the Quattro. The car does weigh 3300 pounds and has a very heavy feel to it. If you want to mod it get the 1.8t. There are not a lot of things to do to a 2.8l except intake, exhaust, chip, and finally a supercharger. But all in all I love my car. The top speed is 130mph. I tink mine runs 7.3 0-60 and 15.5 1/4 from what I've read. But also I'm not sure if the 98 is a 12v or a 30v engine. The 12v have 172hp while the 30v puts out 190hp.

 

Sotck a4 and performance shoudlnt be in the same sentence...unless your talking about a twisty road. For what it is the a4 is a great car, handles well for what it is, and the 2.8 performance is much more then a factory civic. You will be happy either way you go.

Oh and your civic doesnt wiegh 1800lbs try more like 2200 unless you gutted the car complely and have no accesories like a/c, p/s, and crusie control. In the handling dept the adui with quattro will always outshine the civic, I know cause the 96 civic I had when stock was a pig and pushed the nose on hard cornering.

 

ya no i gutted her she ways 1800 i kno i got nothing in it! haha and its got exhaust intake and has 130 hp its the real deal but i want luxury finally but dont want to give up all me fun, so 130 is the top speed im lookin at then?

ive heard of an a4 hitting 140 many times and 150 with slight hill, just what i heard though, from a guy in germany and he had some mods done, but i think it will be quicker and without quattro and a manual i thought the a4 weighed 3050 not 3300, ive seen many different numbers though, maybe that was for 12v, but yeah an a4 will be nicer and out-handle you're civic, great in rain or snow with quattro.

 

My car with the mods it has, on a very long strait road hit 145, and probably could have gone faster if there was more room, im talkin like a 6 mile straight........

the a4 will own the civic. plain and simple...in the twisties, baller effect...and overall quality. speed....just get some mods and you'll own.

 

and saying you have an audi instead of a honda is much more apealing haha
