I'm buying a Borla Cat Back Exhaust for my 02 A4 3.0, what kind of performance gains should I expect from it. Borla says anywhere from 8 - 14hp, I'm just wondering if thats actually true.

they are a big company i dont think they would have false advertising but i bet its close to 8 then 14

 

ya the back pressure is greater and so it creates more pressure and more space for the air to move creating the added horsepower

im not sure but i think u see bigger gains from borla when u have a 1.8t correct me if im wrong.......

 

on one of the Audi aftermarket performance providers wedsite there is a large list on dyno tuned cars. Ite seems i remember that the average hp gain for an exhaust with no other mods us 7-10 depending on the Cars engine type. One thing to strongly consider with your choice is the torque gain will be more noticable than the Hp gain. Torque is a strong force in the Audi's. More so than Horsepower and it provides real world performance. ie. 20-40 or 40-60 acceleration.
