Default Performance which can be expected?

I'm in the market for a new (used) car. I just sold my Shelby Durango that was running high 13's (408 Stroked) as a SUV. I'm now looking for a fun car in addition to something else I'll be getting for the wife. I've been looking between the S4 and A4. I'm kinda leaning towards an A4, just to have some fun and see what we can't squeeze out of a 1.8T engine. What type of performance specs can I expect to get out of the A4? If we were to go with the following typical upgrades, what kind of 1/4 and 0-60's can I expect:

-14lbs Chip
-Intake
-Exhaust
-Hi-Flo Cat/Downpipe
-K03 or K24 Turbo
-FMIC
-Header
-Injectors
-Adjustable Wastegate

Maybe:
-Sportcams

If you guys have any similiar set-ups on here or ideas (I know it will be round-about) but I'm just looking for some rough ideas. I've also pondered a 2.0 engine swap. I heard these were obtainable from somewhere.

Thanks,
Russ

Buy an S4... you get soooo much more in an S4.. nicer interior, nicer exterior, bigger brakes, bigger wheels, 6 spd gearbox.... I'm sure there's more. If you can afford the S4, it's a no brainer.

Dang, talk about quick replies, I'm thinking this may be a good place to hang around for a while. I can certainly hear you on the S4 perspective in regards to the features. Let's say for this discussion sake that I may be purchasing something nicer for the Mrs. and I'll be stuck with the left-overs. IF this were the case, what could I expect out of the A4? And if I went with FWD, would I be experiencing a lot of torque steer when we get into the ~250-350hp at the wheels range?

IMO- go with quattro. It handles so much better in almost every aspect i can think of.

If money isn't there for the S4 which i would take over an A4 any day, then the 1.8T is Much more modable.

But a 1.8T with the mods your talking about vs. the S4 without any mods... the S4 would pull a lot harder than the 1.8T

.... Now for thoughts.. how bout an S4 with those mods

If u stick a k24 in ur a4, it will rip off a s4, Dave ran mid 12s with just a k16, k24 is amazing.

Get the S4 and you will never regret it again. I have the tip I love it but if you are going to go all out from what I have read you are better off getting the 6spd.

Haha, he will regret it when he gets smoked by a k24 a4. Im farily sure hes looking at the tap kit, which is pricey, but makes incredable power.

So I've been doing a little looking around and came up with the MTM Audi A4 GT making 286 hp with a new manifold, K24, exhaust, free flow air filter, larger cap. intercooler, and the ECU changes of course. They were also saying
The pressure control system is different, however, and the new Motronic system controls airflow rather than boost. This means when the inlet air temperature goes up, the boost pressure is altered to maintain the power level, i.e., when it is hot, boost pressure is raised and vice versa independent of ambient air temperature.
Where would I find a system like this I could install?

They are also claiming that these few mods put it at 5.1 on the 0-60. Does this sounds about right? I'm not sure but this is sounding pretty appealing. Although you all do bring up some interesting points about the S4. My main attention is going to the 6 spd and of course the Bi-Turbo 6 cyl.

But anyway, if you guys could keep the info on the A4 coming that would be great.

Thanks,
Russ

if u want to see what u can get from a 1.8T i would put Tomritt as an example with the gt28r turbo. BUt i also knwo of a place (where i just bought my shofter from hartman motorsports) they where in eurp tuner for their s4 which has 505 HP with 100 octane race gas. So u can make a s4 with just a K04 conversion (around 7 grand) be 0-60 in 4 sec flat. So... if u can afford it get teh s4.

MTM is one of the most expensive tuners not saying that they are not good they are a very good tuner but expensive stick with other tuners like GIAC, APR, REVO but if you want to slap on this huge K24 then you will be using custom tinning anyways
