Pin-out for 5-pin fog light button?
Does anybody know what pins do what on a 5-pin fog light switch like the ones in the dash? I'm pretty sure pins 1 and 2 are power and ground for the red dash light, and pins 4, 5 and 6 are power load and ground for the switch and lights in the switch that come on when the switch is engaged, but I have no clue which pins are which.
Right, well I figured I had to take the whole center console and middle dash out anyways, and after messing around with the other fog light switch pins 1 and 2 are indeed for the red dash light (easy enough, just ran 2 wires from one switch to the new one), and pins 5 and 6 are switched (2 wires going into each pin. I'm assuming for left and right). Pin 4 was not used and there is no pin 3. Now to figure out how to get the light to light up when the switch is engaged...
Good thing I had some time to do this today because when I got the car into the garage and went to put the parking brake on it was jammed and wouldn't pull up. Took everything off and found a pencil wedged into the gear part with the catch on it. That and 2 different parking passes and a ticket to some park I've never heard of were in there. Crazy
But, yeah, I'll post back when I know what the rest of the pins do... Or if anybody knows already, feel free to chip in. [sm=thanx.gif]

Right, so I don't know what I did, but for some reason when I unplugged one of the wires going to the switch and then plugged it back in again, the switch lit up when I turned it on...
Oh, and pictures! It's kinda tough to take a picture of because it's a whole bunch of flashing LEDs, but I tried...

With the blue light off...

The magical extra button...

The light from the inside... (Not quite done here, I used flat headed screws and painted that mini-visor (and the screw heads) a matte greyish color that looks a lot better)

And with the light on... Yeah, there's 2 more sections that aren't lit up, with the 2 in the picture flashing real quick and the other 2 narrower sections on either side flashing one and then the other. All 6 pictures I took just showed this, so i gave up.
The one thing I need to fix is that the light gets in the way of the mirror and is too far away from the window so when it's dark out there's more glare inside than I'd like. I'll probably just end up getting really long screws and throwing a few spacers in there to get it past the mirror. I think that would look a lot nicer, too.
