I will give the same advice I give to many individuals.

Keep your car in top mechanical shape. The coolest car is one that runs. The cheapest and easiest investment you can make is to replace all the fluids in your car especially if you haven't done so in the last 3 or 4 years, or if you purchased the car used

These include

1. Antifreeze- Although it never gets below freezing in Bangkok, the anti-rust features wear out. Use only Audi G12 and distiller water

2. Power steering fluid - change it. Use only Audi fluid or Pentosin.

3. Brake fluid. Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air, a particular problem in Bangkok. The absorbed water lowers the boiling point of the fluid. It also can cause rust on the inside of the calipers. The system should have new fluid replaced every 2 years.

4. You didn't say what transmission you have. If you have manual, you should change the gear oil with fresh synthetic. If you have a tiptronic automatic, you should have the transmission fluid and filter changed. Although the automatic is a "sealed" unit with "lifetime fluid", I'd still suggest changing the fluid and filter in your car if it hasn't been done since the car was new.

6. I don't know if your car is quattro, but if it is, I'd also suggest changing the center and rear differential fluid.

Change the air filter and put in new spark plugs if this hasn't been done in the last 20,000 miles.

I thought the B5 started in 1996, and the B7 started with 2005.5 .

There are 1995 B5's in Europe.

If the B7 starts with 2005.5, doesnt the B6 have to end there too? Technically The B6 only ran from 2002-2005, and all B7's are 2005.5's. Thanks Crazyhawk.
