Basically when your engine is set up for higher octane fuel, it can delay the spark since the higher octane doesn't ignite as easily. when you add lower octane to it, it ignites before it's supposed to, before the piston is all the way up again.

 

I thought A4 lost in that video. OP said that bmw lost. hmm...let me watch it again.

 

The A4 won when it was using race gas (or at least higher octane gas), then the bimmer won after he filled with 91.

 

Yeah he won with higher race fuel, then stopped accelerating at like 120, then the BMW passed him.. but it was already over.

Then his car pinged to sh*T and the BMW won from there on out..

I believe it says the M3 is super charged somewhere.[&:]

 

That vid is from way last year. The A4 was Charlie's from audizine. There was a huge pissin' match thread about it all with the BMW guys on AZ last year. Irony is that Charlie now owns a BMW.

i have yet to see a dyno from anyone running on stock internals makeing more power then me and my mika tune!

 

Check out vortex 1.8t forum. There are a lot of guys over there making big power on stock internals

 

If you're curiously asking me.... I don't know. Highlights have to be Rustang GT's and new GTO's. Beat up on stock onse a good bit. Both brand's owners quite pissed usually when they find out I'm 4 cylinder smoking their V8. Not that I beat them all, as some around here are modded out the azz. But just being able to hang with some of those modded ones makes me happy!
