southwest suburbs of chicago, so if anyone has any suggestions on shops around there, that would be very helpful

not bad at all. the mileage on that is pretty low. i have a 2003 A4 and i'm already at 51K. glad to see it has quattro. i can't imagine getting an audi w/o it

around here in SoCal, most places will do it for free especially if its a flash (meaning they just hook up a computer to your OBDII port and copy the programming).
