hey guys,
long time vw owner who bought 325 wagon. i traded my 02 gti for an 03 325 wagon. really miss the rocket power from my beloved gti but wanted to upgrade. i'm modding my 325 but its just not the same. there are bmw people and there are audi/vw people. i think i may have made a mistake by going bmw. thinking about maybe selling and getting an a3. i know that this is an audi forum, so there may be some biases, but what do you guys think? is the a3 really worth it?

 

I think A3's have almost all of the same advantages that an A4 would have, the minus would be no Quattro, the plus would be speed / price / extra room with hatch.

I think a car that is DEFINITELY going to give sport hatches a run for their money is the new MazdaSpeed 3.

I came from a 330i to an A4 and I'm enjoying modding this car, definitely.
You should check the A3 board on this forum. There's a few really nice rides over there - I can't imagine how you couldn't have fun with an A3.

 

i would say defintely go with the a3 but only cuz im an audi enthusiast. check out the a3 section of the forum. im sure you'll find lots more info over there

 

I like the bmw wagons, but the A3 will def give you more modding fun.

Correct, I should have said the more MOD-FRIENDLY version of the A3 (the 2.0T) does not come with a Quattro version available......only the 3.2 version.
As I'm a big fan of the little Turbo that could - I would recommend it over the 3.2 in a second.
